In autumn 2008 Charmaine Spicer unveiled her ‘’First Resort Collection” in Miami. This feminine yet functional line was well received at specialty stores and boutiques throughout the USA, Paris and the Caribbean. In the spring of 2010 this gifted Designer decided to give back to Trinidad and Tobago, and launched her first Flag Ship Store in her native island of Tobago where she catered to a high end clientele under the label Charmaine Spicer Designs.

Charmaine Spicer’s creativity and uniqueness were borne out of her own sense of style, along with the tutelage of her mother who designed all her clothes while growing up. Miss Spicer got further encouragement and support to explore the fashion industry from her godmother, Allison Browne Sardinha, along with private design classes and mentor-ship from a talented French Couturier on the island.

During her years of working in the banking industry in Tobago, Miss Spicer simultaneously pursued her new passion for fashion aggressively. Miss Spicer produced three highly successful fashion shows on the island of Tobago, which earned her stellar reviews and raves in the Tobago News, along with a loyal following.

As a result of her immense success, Miss Spicer ambitiously migrated to the USA in 1987 to pursue her career dream at the world renowned Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, where she was fortunate to intern with one of the top fashion houses in the USA, Elie Tahari. After graduating on the 31st May 1991, this gifted designer focused on developing her own company, Spice Rack Designs, in the city of New York, where she made a name for herself in the fashion industry.
